Show me your SPF

Sorry for being a bit MIA recently. I've gotten more hours at work recently as people are leaving or on holiday, so that means more hours for me. I've forgotten about my blog because of this, but I am back now and hoping to do one post a week. In other news, I set up a separate Instagram account solely devoted to skincare. Here's a link to my new Instagram account

I thought I'd make a post about my current collection of SPF. I feel it's important to wear SPF everyday to help prevent premature ageing and to also protect my skin from the harmful damage the sun can do to skin.

I'm currently using the Anthelios XL Ultra Light Fluid SPF50 from La Roche Posay. I enjoy using this sunscreen but I can't wait to try new sunscreens after finishing this one. I use this everyday before I go out to work or before I take my dog for a walk. I like this as it provides a barrier between my skin and the drying air from the air con at work. It's also a very good sunscreen. I'd definitely recommend it to someone who's looking for a light and unnoticeable sunscreen to wear everyday. It's light, non scented, and it doesn't leave a white cast which is great. So many sunscreens can leave me with a white cast, but this one doesn't. I'm definitely going to repurchase this in the future, but I've got a few different sunscreens to try and a few I want to try. I've got my eye on the Confort Creme SPF50 from the same range, which I would like to try in the future.

I've currently have a few products from the Ideal Soleil range by Vichy. The first item I've got to try is the Mattifiying Face Dry Touch SPF50. I'm excited but also a bit apprehensive to try this one. I'm worried it might be a bit too drying for my skin, but I'll see how I get on with it. The next product I've got to try is the Invisible Hydrating Mist SPF50. I saw this on a clearance stand in Boots one day (I love a good bargain), and it was still in the expiry limit. It's a lightweight body sunscreen, which I use on my days off when I'm popping in and out of the house. I normally use this on my legs as it's easy to apply. But, I am having a bit of a hard time to like this. It has a scent, which I'm not fond of. But I'll see how I get on with it and hopefully learn to love it or just enough to finish it. And I've got myself a SPF lip balm to use, this one is the Ideal Soleil SPF30 Lip Stick. I can't wait to try this as I always forget to buy a SPF lip balm to protect my lips from the sun.

The next SPF product I'm going to talk about is one of my favourite products, it's the Cicaplast Baume B5 SPF50. This has been great in helping heal and fade any scars on my arms and hands. I'm going to do a post in the future on how my scars are healing, but this is one of the best products to help aid healing. I use this most days on my arms before I go to work, and I'm definitely seeing an improvement in the visible scars. And for only £7.50 from Boots, it's definitely something I'm going to continue to purchase. Another bonus is that I hardly notice it on my skin when I use it, it sinks in quickly and leaves no white cast. It's definitely something I'd recommend you look into if you have damaged skin that you want to help heal and not leave any marks or scars. I love this product so much, that's the best thing I can say about this.

The next SPF product I've got waiting to try is the Photoderm Spot SPF50 Creme by Bioderma. I tried a sample of this recently, and I enjoyed it so much that I had to get a tube of it. It's seems like such a good product that I can't wait to try it on a daily basis. It's designed to help prevent hyperpigmentation, which I have, either in the form of freckles, or hyperpigmentation that is left behind after a spot. I also liked the cream texture, as it helped prevent my skin from drying out at work, which is always a helpful bonus.  I have started using this recently, and it's great. It does leave me with a slightly shiny face, but after it's been on for a few minutes, it disappears. I bought this for £12 from Boots, they had a sale on selected Bioderma Photoderm products recently. I've been using this for the past few days and it's really good so far.

What are you favourite SPF products?

Thanks for reading!
