February Empties

Well, that's another month over with. February has seemed to flown over for me. And with that, I've used a lot of products up this month. So this is going to be a long one.




Skincare empties:
  • Avene Antirougeurs Clean Cleanser 200ml - I didn't really enjoy this at all. It's marketed as a cleansing lotion but it's more like a cleansing milk. If you're looking for a no thrills, basic, fragrance free cleanser, this could be something to consider, but I won't be purchasing it again. 
  • REN Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask 10ml - I didn't really enjoy this at all. This had a weird fragrant scent and it was too much. And I don't think the mask did anything when I used it. I got this in a REN travel bag set, and I won't purchase a full size version of it. 
  • SVR Sebiaclear SPF50 Creme 50ml - This is my favourite sunscreen at the moment. I love how easy this goes on, and it leaves no white cast. And it contains no Avobenzone so it doesn't irritate my skin at all. Will repurchase. 
  • The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter 90ml - This is my favourite cleanser of all time. If I could only use one cleanser for the rest of my life, I would pick this. I love it so much. Will repurchase. 
  • Wilko Maxi Oval Dual Faced Cotton Pads (50 pack) - These are my favourite cotton wool pads. I love the size of these cotton wool pads and for 50p you can't go wrong. Will repurchase. 
Body and Hair Empties:
  • Avon Chocolate & Orange Bubble Bath 500ml - This was nice to begin with, but after using it for so long, it started to smell very sickly towards the end. Would not buy again, because I don't really like Avon products. 
  • Avon Foot Works Red Currant Exfoliating Scrub 75ml - This was nice, but I didn't reach for it, so I won't purchase it again. It had a nice scent though.
  • Oral B Complete Cool Mint Mouthwash 500ml - I liked this at one point but I grew bored of it. I'm currently trying a few different mouthwashes, but I may return to this in the future. Not bad for the price though. 
  • The Body Shop Shea Hand Cream 30ml - I love this hand cream from The Body Shop. It leaves my hands soft and moisturised. I've since replaced it with a bigger tube of this. I will always repurchase it. 
  • The Body Shop Shea Nourishing Body Butter 200ml - This is my favourite body butter. I used this nearly everyday from the middle of September until the beginning of February. Will repurchase it forever. 
  • Listerine Total Care Zero Mouthwash 250ml - First off, I had never tried Listerine before, until I tried this. This was vile! How do people use Listerine? It's so vile. It's felt like it was burning my mouth even though there's no alcohol in it. I felt like it made my teeth even more sensitive than they are. Would not buy again, and I won't buy any Listerine mouthwashes in the future. 
  • Ultradex Daily Oral Rinse Mint 100ml - This was alright but I was thrilled by it. It claims to help with bad breath, but it doesn't help when I eat garlic. It has a weird mint taste to it. I won't repurchase this version, but I may try the sensitive version in the future. 
  • Oral B Satin Tape 25m - This is my favourite floss, will repurchase it but I'm trying a different one at the moment. 
  • Avon Dark Orchid & Raspberry Bubble Bath 250ml - This had a nice scent but I'm not too fussed on Avon products so I won't repurchase it. 
  • Nivea Stress Protect Deodorant 50ml - This is my favourite deodorant. It really does last all day. Out of all the Nivea deodorants, this is my favourite. Will repurchase. 
  • Lush Yummy Mummy 100g - I normally like Lush shower gels, but this was horrible. Such a strange scent. I'm glad its finished, and I won't repurchase it. 
  • Oral B Cross Action Toothbrush Head - I bought myself an electric toothbrush in November, as this was one of the heads that came with it. It gives a nice clean, will buy more in the future.
  • Oral B Sensitive Toothbrush Head - To go with my electric toothbrush, I bought some sensitive heads to use on the days where my teeth felt more sensitive than normal. These are really good and I'll try and get more in the future.
Other empties:
  • Paula's Choice Resist Advanced Replenishing Toner sample - I liked this, I may purchase a full size in the winter, as it's more suited for my skin in winter. 
  • Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Toner sample - I wasn't too impressed by this. Would not purchase a full size. 
  • Paula's Choice Resist Weightless Advanced Repairing Toner sample - I'm definitely going to buy a full size version of this in the summer. It left my skin so soft and smooth. 
  • Paula's Choice Rehydrating Moisture Mask sample - I really enjoyed this sample. This mask left my skin plump and hydrated after using it. I will be purchasing this in the future. 
  • Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Gel sample - This was nice. It went on smooth, and left my skin feeling nice. It does have a quite sticky texture though, I'm a bit undecided if I would buy it in the future. 
  • Paula's Choice Pore Clarifying Charcoal Gel Mask sample - This was a nice sample. I really liked how it lathers up when you go to rinse it off. I will purchase a full size version in the future, its perfect for those days when I feel a big congested.
  • Skinfood Beauty in a Food Sheet Mask - This was a nice sheet mask to use. It had a nice watermelon scent, and it left my skin hydrated. I may buy it in thr future. 
  • Skin Republic Bubble Purifying + Charcoal Sheet Mask - I got this as a freebie but I won't buy it in the future. This was way too fragrant for me and it irritated my skin a little bit. 
  • Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Gel sample - This irritated my skin a lot. I will not buy it again. 
  • Tigi Bedhead Dumb Blonde Shampoo 750ml - This is my favourite shampoo. It leaves my hair feeling clean and healthy. My hairdresser has commented on how much better condition my hair is in since I started using this. Will repurchase. 
  • Tigi Bedhead Dumb Blonde Reconstructor 750ml - My thoughts on this are the same as the shampoo. It's so good for my hair. Will repurchase.

In the test queue - REN Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk

I like to try out new products, but I have to introduce them slowly to try and prevent any major reactions to products. I patch test every new product in the same area, my cheek, chin and nose. My chin and nose are where I experience any breakouts, if I have one. My cheek is where I experience no breakouts, so I test there to see if a new product would cause a breakout in that area, and if it did, the product would be unsuitable for me. I patch test new products for four weeks, to give my skin time to react to the product. I'm currently testing the REN Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk . Although it's called a cleansing milk, it has much more of a whipped texture, like a cream, more than a milk. I like the pump packaging, it's very efficient. My first impressions of this product were disappointing. I had such high hopes for this product. In the test queue - Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum

I'm currently testing the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum. I was browsing on YesStyle one day and this brand caught my attention. I've seen people rave about Klairs Supple Preparation Toner but I'd never seen anyone mention any of their other products. I decided to buy this as well as buying the popular Supple Preparation Toner. Klairs describe this as a gentle aqueous serum which helps replenish moisture and soothe the skin. I'm currently loving hydrating products at the minute so I decided to start testing this. My first thoughts are that this has a nice consistency. I've been using this on a night to start with, I may add it into my morning routines once I know it's not going to break me out. This is feels so light and absorbs so easily.
